Issue

  • When performing virt-sysprep on a RHEL7 guest image, see below error:
# virt-sysprep -a /home/vm/RHEL72_ks_sysprep.qcow2
Examining the guest ...
virt-sysprep: no operating systems were found in the guest image

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 VM guest image, with separated /usr partition.
  • libguestfs prior to libguestfs-1.32.7-3.el7 or libguestfs-1.20.11-20.el6.
