Setting MTU to a Value less than 1500 for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8 and 7.2 Fails in Microsoft Azure
Issue
Changing the MTU setting to a value less than 1500 fails, error output as follows:
# ifconfig eth0 mtu 1420
SIOCSIFMTU: Invalid argument
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8
- Microsoft Azure or Hyper-V guests
