Error 1053 The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion, when stopping JBoss service on windows.

Issue

JBoss EAP is running as a service on Windows. While stopping the service, the service doesn't shuts down. The following error is displayed instead and the only way to stop this is seems to be manually killing the service from the task manager. Is this a bug ? Is there any solution to overcome this ?

When we try to manually stop the Windows JBossEAP6 service, it finishes with error: "Windows could not stop the JBossEAP6 service on Local Computer. Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion". After this, the process java.exe continues running.
Unable to shutdown the JBoss service and throwing the Error 1053.
