JBoss AS 7 plug-in for JBoss ON continues to report server resource as down after server's authentication service has been restored

Issue

  • We have some InvalidPluginConfigurationException
  • When trying to send command using server user-interface (UI), it doesn't work anymore
  • Monitoring is broken
  • Monitoring is suddenly broken for JBoss application server targets
  • Server resource continues to be reported as down
  • We observe the following exception error in agent log:

    ERROR [ResourceContainer.invoker.daemon-5835] (rhq.modules.plugins.jbossas7.BaseServerComponent)- Failed to read attribute [domain-config-file]: org.rhq.core.pluginapi.inventory.InvalidPluginConfigurationException: Credentials for plugin to connect to AS7 management interface are invalid - update Connection Settings with valid credentials.

  • JBoss Operations Network (ON) 3.1.2
  • JBoss Application Server (AS) 7 plug-in for JBoss ON
  • JBoss AS 7 standalone or host controller resource in inventory and was previously reported as available
  • The application server's management interface security realm's authentication service was temporarily interrupted or unavailable when an availability scan was performed
  • The application server resource continues to be reported as unavailable even though its management interface is responding and authentication is successful from outside of JBoss ON
