Using LVM to help in recreating a reduced XFS filesystem
Issue
- There is no current method for reducing the size of an XFS filesystem
- The following is an advised method for recreating the XFS filesystem at a reduced size
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 7
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 8
- MSDOS Legacy partitioning in use
- The following will not work correctly for GPT partitioned disks
