auditd cannot start on boot with log_group option in auditd.conf in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After setting a log_group option in auditd.conf, auditd can not start on boot.
  • The specified group name with the option is provided by centrify DC.
  • We changed /lib/systemd/system/auditd.service to add the dependency to centrifydc.service, but auditd cannot start yet.
