NFSv4 id mapping issues in a multi-domain environment involving EMC Isilon NFS server

Issue

  • The owner and group owner of files are mapped to the nobody user in a multi-domain environment.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7
  • SSSD
  • Active Directory with multiple domains in a trust configuration, with users being authenticated from multiple domains
  • NFS v4/v4.1
  • EMC Isilon NAS, configured to allow multiple domains (i.e. nfsv4-replace-domain is set to 'no')
  • Also applies to Windows 2012 NFSv4.1 servers
