IBM AIX client fails to connect to Red Hat Storage over NFS protocol.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • AIX clients unable a to mount a RHS share over NFS by using below mount command

    # mount -o vers=3,proto=tcp 10.65.200.166:/testvol /tmp/gluster

  • Able to mount when port=38467 option is specified, however some files/folders are no longer visible after certain OS operation like cd,ls.

    # mount -o vers=3,proto=tcp,port=38467 10.65.200.166:/testvol /tmp/gluster

  • How can AIX clients mount a RHS share over NFS without specifying the port option.

  • Native NFS shares are not having any issues and can be mounted without specifying the port option.

Environment

  • Red Hat Storage Server 2.0, 2.1
  • IBM AIX 6.1 acting as an NFS-client
