Issue

  • Installing RHEV Hypervisor using PXE boot fails with the error:

    Starting ovirt-firstboot: Config boot.
  Volume group "HostVG" not found
  Skipping volume group HostVG

Local storage must be configured prior to installing
Automatic installation failed. Please review console messages.
Press Enter to drop to emergency shell.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization 3.0
  • Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization Hypervisor (RHEV-H) 6.3
  • PXE Boot configured with options "... upgrade ... bootif=eth0"
