"tigervnc-server" needs to be rebuilt to re-enable `listen-on-tcp` behavior in RHEL 6.8

Solution In Progress - Updated -

Issue

  • When Xvnc is configured on RHEL system, it by default listen for connections for a VNC client on TCP ports 5800+x, 5900+x, and 6000+x
  • As soon as tigervnc-server updated to tigervnc-server-1.1.0-18.el6.x86_64, it stops listening on 6000+x TCP port.
  • This was not the default behavior with tigervnc-server-1.1.0-16.el6.x86_64 and earlier version of tigervnc-server. How to reset this behavior in RHEL6.8?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8
  • tigervnc-server-1.1.0-18.el6.x86_64
