How to configure tigervnc-server to listen on TCP port 6000+X again in RHEL 6.8?

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • When Xvnc is enabled on RHEL system, it listens for connections for a VNC client on TCP ports 5800+x, 5900+x, and 6000+x(where x can be between 0-99). As soon as tigervnc-server package is updated to tigervnc-server-1.1.0-18.el6, it stops listening on 6000+x TCP ports.
  • The problem was not there with tigervnc-server-1.1.0-16.el6.x86_64 and earlier version of tigervnc-server. How to fix this issue in RHEL6.8?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.8
  • tigervnc-server-1.1.0-18.el6
