How to load rules dynamically in BRMS 6, without using kjar ?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • As per the application design users need to load new and updated rules from filesystem or classpath, and they do not want to rely on how KieScanner uses kjars to do that. There might be constraints involved in user's architecture which might prevent many users from loading rules using maven based approach of loading rules via kjar . Many users prefer to use ClasspathContainer so that they can load all rule related assets from filesystem or classpath easily, and add them in KieBase .
  • In such use case it is imperative for users to find a mechanism to reload all such rules and assets which have been changed/updated over the course of time in their application, i.e. DRL file is updated and the application should reload the updated rule into container. Is there a way to implement this kind of use case in BRMS 6 ?
