After presenting new paths and removing the old paths, all device-mapper-multipath paths fail on Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Issue
- We have migrated fabric storage ports from old ports to new ports and performed a scsi rescan, but the filesystems became read only.
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) including
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (RHEl5)
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL6)
- device-mapper-multipath to manage multiple paths to storage devices
- SAN-based storage provided by a fabric switch
- Switching paths to use different fabric switch ports, and removing the old paths through the old fabric switch ports.
