NFS Server is not allowing or accepting clients to authenticate to NFS mounts

Issue

  • NFS clients can not mount NFS server shares.
  • The NFS clients that are having the issue at one time could perform the mounts.
  • Other NFS clients have the shares mounted with no issue.

Environment

Observed on

  • NFS server:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.8 (Tikanga)
    • Kernel version: 2.6.18-308.el5.x86_64
    • nfs-utils-1.0.9-60.el5.x86_64

  • NFS clients:

    • Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 6.5 (Santiago)
