Getting "Error:DBI connect" error while installing Red Hat Network Satellite ?

Issue

When installing Red Hat Nework Satellite server (with and embedded DB) on Red HHat Enterprise Linux  5.4. The installer fails after the DB installation with the following error message :

Database: Setting up database connection. 
Could not connect to the database.  Your connection information may be incorrect.
"Error:DBI connect('rhnsat','rhnsat',...) failed: ORA-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not 
exist (DBD ERROR:OCIServerAttach) at (eval 10) line 1391"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.3
  • Red Hat Network Satellite v5.2 with embedded database
