Receiving 'javaHome' error when trying to start JBossEAP via JON

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I cannot get the JON server to execute the the start operation on the EAP server. It seems to call the shutdown script without any problem.
  • Can you give me some idea of what I can try to make the start operation to work on the EAP server?

  • Here's the error I'm getting:

java.lang.IllegalStateException: The 'javaHome' connection property must be set in order to start or stop the application server via script.at org.rhq.plugins.jbossas5.ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.initProcessExecution(ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.java:284)at org.rhq.plugins.jbossas5.ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.start(ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.java:230)at org.rhq.plugins.jbossas5.ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.invoke(ApplicationServerOperationsDelegate.java:142)at org.rhq.plugins.jbossas5.ApplicationServerComponent.invokeOperation(ApplicationServerComponent.java:524)

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network(JON) 2.3
  • JBoss Enterprise Application Platform(EAP) 5.0
