Why doesn't sfdisk detect I/O errors that occur when writing out the partition information?
Issue
When writing out data to create partitions sfdisk does not not perform any sort of sync or direct I/O operation. As a consequence of this, it fails to detect any I/O errors that occur when writing out the partition information.
