Kickstart does not find client hostname when configuring networking
Issue
- using config file to set up /etc/hosts file during kickstart from Satellite
-
config file uses macros to store client's hostname and IP address in /etc/hosts, e.g.:
{| rhn.system.net_interface.ip_address(eth0) |} {| rhn.system.hostname |} -
hostname is not found, and is populated in /etc/hosts as "unknown"
- also, /etc/sysconfig/network has "localhost.localdomain" as the HOSTNAME
Environment
- Red Hat Network Satellite
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux
