Can I configure a RHEL 6, 7, 8, or 9 High Availability cluster with pacemaker to serve highly available NFS exports distributed across multiple nodes?

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • I want to load balance my HA NFS exports, so that each node in the cluster exports some individual shares.
  • How can I set up "Active/Active" NFS exporting with RHEL High Availability, so that we can utilize all the nodes in the cluster for serving different exports?
  • Can I run an nfsserver resource as a clone throughout the cluster, but then have individual exportfs resources float between nodes for load-balancing and recovery purposes?

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6, 7, 8, or 9 with the High Availability Add-On
  • Pacemaker
  • Cluster serving multiple highly available NFS exports
