Issue

  • Can cockpit be configured to use the tcp port of docker-engine instead of unix socket /var/run/docker.sock ?
  • As a part of security hardening, docker has been configured only to listen on TCP port(TLS). Cockpit fails to detect docker-engine on the system due to this. Cockpit console displays the message "Docker is not installed or activated on the system"

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
  • cockpit 0:0.114-2.el7
  • docker-1.10.3-44.el7.x86_64
