After Red Hat Satellite 6.1.x to 6.2.x upgrade, registering a system with short hostname configured on it causes duplicate profiles created in Hosts and Content Hosts

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • After Red Hat Satellite 6.1.9 to 6.2.0 or later upgrade, registering a system with short hostname configured on it causes duplicate profiles created in Hosts and Content Hosts with both short and Fully Qualified Domain Names (FQDN).
  • Hostnames in uppercase (or shortname) are listed twice (resp. also in lowercase or with FQDN)
  • Since we upgraded from Satellite 6.1.9 to 6.2.0 or later we see duplicate systems in our Hosts section.

Environment

  • Red Hat Satellite 6.2.
