Process 'gam_server' has been observed consuming significant system resources.

Issue

  • In the output of command 'top', 'gam_server' process/es were observed consuming system resources like CPU, memory and there seems to be a memory leak issue with the process.

Environment

The issue has been observed in the following RHEL releases and gamin packages :

  • RHEL 6.8

    • gamin-0.1.10-9.el6.x86_64
    • gamin-0.1.10-9.el6.i686

  • RHEL 7.2

    • gamin-0.1.10-16.el7.x86_64
    • gamin-0.1.10-16.el7.i686
