How does the "rpmdev-vercmp" work?
Issue
- While using the
rpmdev-vercmp
script with two package versions, got the wrong result :
rpmdev-vercmp proftpd-1.3.5b-2.el7.x86_64.rpm proftpd-1.3.5-2.el7.x86_64.rpm
The result is:
proftpd-1.3.5b-2.el7.x86_64.rpm < proftpd-1.3.5-2.el7.x86_64.rpm
- But the result should be :
proftpd-1.3.5b-2.el7.x86_64.rpm > proftpd-1.3.5-2.el7.x86_64.rpm
Environment
Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
rpmdevtools-8.3-5.el7.noarch
