Why abrt-vmcore fails to harvest cores from /var/crash?

Issue

  • Starting abrt to capture kernel panic information however it isn't automatically picking up kernel panics from /var/crash on system boot.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6.
  • abrt-addon-vmcore-2.0.8-40.el6.x86_64
