Firewalld service failed to start in RHEL 7 and showing error "No IPv4 and IPv6 firewall".

Issue

  • Firewalld.service is not starting in RHEL 7.

  • Firewalld.service status shows the following error :

    firewalld[20545]: 2016-07-14 11:01:55 ERROR: ebtables not usable, disabling ethernet bridge firewall.
firewalld[20545]: 2016-07-14 11:01:55 FATAL ERROR: No IPv4 and IPv6 firewall.
firewalld[20545]: 2016-07-14 11:01:55 ERROR: Raising SystemExit in run_server.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.
  • Firewalld.
