Unable to use kerberos single-sign-on (SSO) with `git` using `HTTP(S)` transport

Issue

  • After an update git pull now asks for a username/password although we had SSO configured and a valid kerberos ticket.
  • git clone of a repository from a Microsoft (R) Visual Studio (R) Team Foundation Server now asks for username/passord
  • git ignores kerberos tickets when using HTTP(S) repositories and SSO.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6 (RHEL 6)
  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 (RHEL 7)
  • libcurl > 7.19.7-26
  • HTTP(S) git repository with kerberized SSO
