[JBoss ON] Why are integer metric values returning decimal values for low and peak?

Issue

  • Non-integer peak values for datasource metrics
  • Peak values for datasource metrics (i.e. connection counts) are non-integer
  • Why are peak values non-integer since they are connection counts?
  • How are the peak values calculated for integer metrics?
  • Why are integer metric values returning decimal values for low and peak?

Environment

  • JBoss Operations Network (ON) 2.4.1, 2.4.2, 3.0, 3.0.1, 3.1.0, 3.1.1
  • Resource metric of type integer, such as:
    • Connection counts
    • Thread conts
    • milliseconds
    • or any other metric that represents a count as a whole number
  • Viewing metric data for a date range prior to the past 7 days
