Unable to set instance resource quota on rbd disk.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • It is possible to use flavor's properties to customize instances. For example, it is possible to set various limits (quotas) for different resources. There are a number of various parameters that limit Instance's access to its disks. It is enforce this parameters for ephemeral disks, but they will not work for cinder volumes.
  • disk_read_bytes_sec, disk_read_iops_sec, disk_write_bytes_sec, disk_write_iops_sec, disk_total_bytes_sec or disk_total_iops_sec are not enforced for Cinder root volumes.
  • iotune subsection is not added to VM's profile for persistent disk despite quota:disk_write_bytes_sec is defined for instance's flavor.

Please check Table 3.5. Libvirt Metadata from Instances and Images Guide to get more information about libvirt-related flavor's properties.
