Red Hat Enterprise Linux 3 U3 system became unresponsive under low memory conditions
Issue
- Unable to login to oracle server
- Server was inaccessible via ssh
- Login prompt on the console was not available.
- telnet at port 22 and port 1521 was working.

- kernel 2.4.21-20.ELsmp
