After updating Samba to 3.6.23-30 or later, I see NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED errors.

Issue

After updating Samba to 3.6.23-30, shares are not accessible anymore when samba is running in domain member mode and new Samba servers can't join the Windows domain.

Errors similar to the messages below can be found in the Samba logs:

../source3/smbd/service.c:419(create_connection_session_info) user 'foobar'
(from session setup) not permitted to access this share (data)
../source3/smbd/service.c:552(make_connection_snum) create_connection_
session_info failed: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and the server doesn't support it.
failed negprot: NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Cannot connect to server.  Error was NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED

  • samba-3.6.23-30 or later
