JBoss ON agent fails to connect to the server with the message "Agent [myAgent] is not registered. Cause: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException"

Issue

  • JBoss ON agent processes are running on the agent servers but those are showing unavailable on JBoss ON console;
  • JBoss ON agent is not able to register with the server and the following is logged in the agent.log file:
INFO  [RHQ Agent Ping Thread-1] (org.rhq.enterprise.agent.AgentMain)- {AgentMain.ping-executor.start-polling-after-exception}Starting polling to determine sender status (server ping failed)
ERROR [RHQ Server Polling Thread] (enterprise.communications.command.client.JBossRemotingRemoteCommunicator)- {JBossRemotingRemoteCommunicator.init-callback-failed}The initialize callback has failed. It will be tried again. Cause: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException:null -> org.rhq.core.clientapi.server.core.AgentRegistrationException:Agent [myAgent] is not registered. Cause: java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
  • JBoss ON agent is failing to connect to the server and server.log file shows the following message:
INFO  [org.rhq.enterprise.server.core.CoreServerServiceImpl] (http-/0.0.0.0:7080-4) Agent [myAgent][4.12.0.JON330GA(e347f77)] would like to connect to this server
