shmall defined incorrectly in Korean Performance Tuning Guide in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 6

Issue

  • Performance Tuning Guide has different measure and definition of shmall parameter according to language version, It makes customer confused.

"English Version"

Defines the total number of shared memory pages that can be used on the system at one time. For database workloads, Red Hat recommends that this value is set to the result of shmmax divided by the hugepage size. However, Red Hat recommends checking your vendor documentation for recommended values. 

"Korean Version"

Defines the total amount of shared memory in bytes that can be used on the system at one time. The default value for machines with 64-bit architecture is 4294967296; for 32-bit architecture the default value is 268435456.
