Not able to find all hard disks at installation time.

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • Unable to find all hard disks during installation.

  • The motherboard in this case is 'ASUS M3N78-VM' with three SATA hard disks on SATA-1, SATA-2, and SATA-3 (500 Gb each).

  • When the disk partitioning screen reaches, the option "create custom layout" is selected by default. 'Select Drives' option is grayed out and logical volume driver id is checked off in it. When selecting 'custom installation', the following message pops up :

You have chosen to remove all partitions in the following drives - mapper/nvidia_jeafedaa (Linux device mapper 953760 MB
  • The total storage size shows only ~ 1GB while the actual size is 1.5 GB. Why is the total storage not shown properly ?
