pvmove for stripped LVs fails with "Insufficient suitable allocatable extents for logical volume"
Issue
- Getting following error message on running
pvmovefor stripped LVM volumes:
[root@localhost ]# pvmove -i60 /dev/sda /dev/sdb
Insufficient suitable allocatable extents for logical volume : 25344 more required
Unable to allocate mirror extents for pvmove0.
Failed to convert pvmove LV to mirrored
- Want to migrate my LVM data/stack from multiple disks to a single disk from new SAN however
pvmoveoperation fails with above error message?
Environment
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux(RHEL) 6
