Resolution

  • Ensure the .installation folder exists.

Root Cause

The mv command was used to move files, and this command ignores hidden files/folders like .installation when used as follows:

mv $JBOSS_HOME/*

Diagnostic Steps

  • Check if the $JBOSS_HOME/.installation file exists.
  • md5sum of jboss-eap-6.4.x-patch.zip?
  • Run the JDR report to check anything unusual with the module xmls?
  • Check for any missing $JBOSS_HOME/.installation directory.
  • Check if installed-patches lists all patches in the $JBOSS_HOME/.installation/identity.conf file.
