Is the 'REST API' for the new Certificate Based Subscription Management documented/supported ?

Issue

Transitioning from the classic subscription management to the certificate based system.
Want to automate as much as possible and looking into scripting the registration and entitlement of hosts.
Upon inspection of the python code for the subscription-manager tool, found that it uses the REST API at subscription.rhn.redhat.com.
Is this REST API documented and is its use supported?
It is based on the candlepin project, which has API documentation.
