multipath -ll <mapname> returned nothing if device names are whiltelisted using 'devnode'

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • If device names are whitelisted using devnode, device details returned in multipath -ll topology are not returning output when query explictly by map name.
 # multipath -ll
mpathb (1IET     00020001) dm-0 IET,VIRTUAL-DISK
size=2.0G features='0' hwhandler='0' wp=rw
`-+- policy='round-robin 0' prio=1 status=active
  `- 2:0:0:1 sdb 8:16 active ready running
# multipath -ll -v4 mpathb
Oct 02 14:30:44 | mpathb: device node name blacklisted
