Why checksum for a binary installed via custom RPM doesn't match checksum of the binary from source RPM

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

  • The md5sum command is run on a binary prior to its packaging into an rpm. After the rpm is installed, md5sum is run on the newly-installed binary. The hashes do not match.
