Unable to add LUNs exported from a Hitachi SAN Storage to a RHEV 3 Environment

  • Adding a Fibre Channel or iSCSI LUN from a Hitachi SAN Storage results in one of the following error messages:

    • From RHEV Manager's Event Logs and/or /var/log/rhevm/rhevm.log

      2012-08-22 13:44:40,080 ERROR [org.ovirt.engine.core.bll.storage.AddSANStorageDomainCommand] (http- Command org.ovirt.engineANStorageDomainCommand throw Vdc Bll exception. With error message VdcBLLException: org.ovirt.engine.core.vdsbroker.vdsbroker.VDSErrorExcepion: VDSErrorException: Failed to CreateVGVDS, error = Failed to initialize physical device: ("found: {} notFound: ('/dev/mapper/1HITACHI\\)
    • From /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log on Hypervisor nodes:
