Why Intel Wireless 8260 network card fails to initialize in Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7 ?

Issue

  • The required module iwlwifi is present in the system but the card doesn't seem to get load in the system and thus not able to use or configure wireless networking.
  • Cannot see any traces / logs from dmesg of card getting fail or something like that.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 7.2
  • kernel-3.10.0-327.10.1.el7.x86_64
  • Intel Corporation Wireless 8260 [8086:24f3] Network Card
  • NetworkManager-1.0.6-27.el7
