Need for an exhaustive flow description between components in an OSP cluster with Controllers, Compute and Ceph
Issue
Provide an exhaustive description of flows between OSP components (including Director) for an OSP 7 setup consisting of Controllers, Compute nodes and Ceph storage nodes. Provide the ports, networks, flows and information about service communication for the Undercloud and the Overcloud; not just between OpenStack nodes (controllers, computes, storage nodes) but also within these components:
- which service initiates a connection to which service,
- to which ports, from which ports,
- through which networks.
The flow description should serve two goals:
- The first one is to create an architecture document for security teams so that these teams can understand all flows, networks and ports used and how they interact together.
- the second one is to understand the behavior of OpenStack and Director.
