yum will wrap lines even if the output is sent to a pipe

Issue

yum will wrap lines up to limited characters per line , even if the output is piped .
For example:

# yum list | less
... snip ...
rubygem-abrt.noarch                    0.0.6-2.el7      rhel-7-server-rpms      
rubygem-foreman_scap_client.noarch     0.1.2-1.el7sat   rhel-7-server-satellite-6.2-rpms
