SCTP behaviour when primary path is down during INIT

Issue

  • What is the behavior of SCTP stack when multihome INIT_ACK is received on secondary path when INIT was sent on primary path? Does the stack accept the INIT_ACK and make primary path active and continue to send HB heartbeats on the secondary path?

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux
  • Streaming Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP)
  • Association using multihomed two paths
