Incorrect message order when browsing with message priorities

Solution Verified - Updated -

Issue

Browsing queue with prioritizedMessages=true can return messages in different order than they will be consumed. In the J6EE java doc http://docs.oracle.com/javaee/6/api/javax/jms/QueueBrowser.html it states the getEnumeration() "Gets an enumeration for browsing the current queue messages in the order they would be received."

It seems the Queuebrowser intermittently does not respect the prioritisation of messages .

Environment

  • Red Hat JBoss A-MQ 6.2.1 R1
    • Browsing queue with prioritizedMessages=true
