Not able to print after changing SNMP community name

Solution Unverified - Updated -

Issue

  • As a response to a security audit we have to change the community name from public to something else. After making this change, we are unable to print to that printer. We tried to adjust the snmp name in /etc/cups.snmp.conf, but this did not fix the printing problem.

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) 6
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS) 1.4.2
  • HP Linux Imaging and Printing (HPLIP)
