Log Viewer in JBoss EAP 6/7 missing log files

Issue

  • Why the “Log Viewer” in JBoss EAP 6 “Management Console” only shows server.log file?
  • We are running JBoss EAP 6.4.0 in managed domain mode (Linux) and changed the logs directory in domain.xml as per this article. This works fine and i can see the logs under the defined location in domain.xml. So far good. But when i login to the management console and navigate to runtime and select the "Log Viewer" , it looks for the log files under the default location and not the custom defined directory.
  • We changed the log directory and we can see the log in that directory and now we can't see logs via Log Viewer (management console).
