Installer prompts for network configuration, even if parameters are specified in PARM or CONF files

Issue

  • In RHEL 5.4 on s/390, when installing or kickstarting a z/VM guest or LPAR that is configured with 1 CPU and/or less than 2 GB storage (memory), the installer will prompt for the network configuration, regardless of whether these parameters appear in the PARM or CONF files. 

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 (prior to update 5)
  • s390 architecture
