Unable to print CUPS test page in RHEL

Issue

  • We need to configure a remote printer on Linux server. Make: Generic, Model: Generic text-only printer. While trying to print a test page, we are getting error:

    Print Test Page lp22 Error
Error: Unsupported format 'application/vnd.cups-banner'!

Environment

  • Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
  • Common Unix Printing System (CUPS)
  • Text-Only printer
