What is the purpose of the CONSOLE (ConsoleHandler) entry within the domain.xml file in EAP6?

Issue

  • The different profiles of domain.xml contains a log handler for CONSOLE, why is that needed?
  • What logging is missed if I remove the CONSOLE handler from domain profiles?
  • Servers in a domain are started by the host controller, why there is a CONSOLE logging entry?
  • I see output from each server if I redirect the console during start, how can I avoid this?
