Satellite 5 update fails with error "/var/lib/pgsql/delete_old_cluster.sh: Permission denied"

Issue

  • Satellite upgrade fails with below error message,
Install fails with:
*** Upgrading embedded database.
There was a problem during embedded database upgrade.
  Exit value: 1.
Please examine /var/log/rhn/rhn_installation.log for more information.
  • Installation logs reflects
Running this script will delete the old cluster's data files:
    delete_old_cluster.sh
/usr/bin/spacewalk-upgrade-postgresql: line 52: /var/lib/pgsql/delete_old_cluster.sh: Permission denied

  • Postgresql (embedded)
