Issue

Installation of filesystem package fails with unpacking of archive failed on file
: cpio: chown failed error if partition is NFS mounted.

rhn_check command failed during installation of filesystem package with following error:

Loaded plugins: rhnplugin      
error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/local: cpio: chown failed

Environment

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5.4
directories belonging to the package are mounted over NFS
